Parent Partnership

At Westwards, our parents and carers are just as much a part of our family as the children in our care. We understand that parenting can be a joyful yet sometimes challenging journey, which is why our highly qualified and experienced team is here to support you every step of the way.

We believe that a strong parent partnership is key to a child’s success. By working closely with you, we ensure we understand all aspects of your child’s life, both in and out of nursery. Taking an active role in your child’s social, emotional, and educational development helps us tailor learning to their unique strengths, interests, and learning style.

Our staff encourage you to be involved in your child’s nursery journey. By collaborating with your child’s keyperson, you can help personalise their learning, reinforce positive behaviours, and support their overall growth.

To make participation easier for busy families, we use the Tapestry app. Through the app, you can track your child’s activities and milestones, view care diaries for babies (including naps, meals, and nappy changes), and share updates or photos from home. We also provide progress summaries every six months to keep you informed of your child’s development.

Every day, our team provides a face-to-face handover, ensuring you are fully updated on your child’s day. Additionally, we hold termly focus meetings where you can review your child’s development and discuss their progress with their keyperson. These meetings are especially valuable as children develop quickly during their early years.

We also send termly newsletters to keep you informed about the activities they’ve enjoyed in the room, nursery events and celebrations.

At Westwards, we are committed to building a true partnership with parents, so together we can support your child to thrive.
