Sensory Room
The early years are critical for a child’s development and children learn through play. We have created a holistic environment providing the opportunity for children to explore a variety of open-ended resources, in a calm space. Using natural resources our sensory room encourages holistic play, which is a vital part of development in the early years of learning.
Our sensory room is creative, limitless and allows children to make their own choices in play. With loose parts, children experiment and investigate in a child-led form of play. We encourage heuristic play, which is rooted in young children’s natural curiosity.
Our aim is for children’s imagination to be sparked, and for them to develop physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and intellectually. The room includes a cosy library area, investigation stations, creative mark-making as well as sensory lighting, mats and open-ended resources.
